1Jo 1v7 – The missed sign

We spot a waterfall cascading down the mountain above us and decide to see if we can reach it. We follow a path heading toward it. After a while, a red arrow painted on a rock points to a path to the right. We ignore this as our path seems to be heading where we want to go. However, soon our path begins to fade and then abruptly ends. Still far from our destination, we decide to cut through the bush to try to find a route. With thorns tearing at us and a real danger of snakes, we are keenly aware of our mistake. Scratched but thankfully not bitten, we stumble across the other path. The red paint dabbed on the rocks indicating the way to the top. Why did we ignore the sign? Why do we choose our own way only to end up on a path of pain and suffering? Our way will not get us to where we want to go. “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin” (1 John 1:7). Jesus shows us the way to walk, the way to the destination – eternal life. Following our own path will bring suffering and end nowhere. Following Jesus’ path will bring peace and life. Will you ignore the sign he painted with his life’s blood on your path? Open Bible – http://bit.ly/1jo1v7
