1Sa 16v7 – Painting the house

We walk past an old house that has been painted and the garden cleaned. It looks amazing. However, on going inside, we discover a totally different scene. The walls have peeling paint. The rooms are cluttered with rubbish. There are signs of leaking. While the outside might impress, anyone who ventures inside soon sees the actual state of the house. How often have you seen this house? Or is this your house? I’m not referring to literal houses but our lives. We often meet people who appear one way on the outside but are entirely different on the inside. The smiles and friendly demeanour don’t match the character inside. “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean.” (Matthew 23:27). God wants authentic people—those who are the same inside and outside. Jesus came to change the inside – our hearts and minds. It’s who we are inside that counts. Outward shows do not deceive God. Let him change your heart. “People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7). Let Jesus live in you and give you a heart so beautiful, everyone will be in awe of his beauty. Open Bible – http://bit.ly/1Sa16v7, https://bit.ly/mat23v27
