I bet you know what the bark of a tree tastes like? Or a pebble? Or wool? We know this because most of us as kids would have put these and many other strange items into our mouths – often to the horror of our parents. It’s how we learn what’s good and bad for us. Thankfully by now we have leaned to stick to tasty items and avoid bark and stones. However, is it the same with our mental appetite? We consume media, content, and other things that are distasteful – bad news, hatred, lies, fear. We dislike it, yet we return for more. We continue to consume these negative and destructive things. God makes an amazing offer – “Taste and see that the LORD is good” (Psalms 34:8). He is not asking you to commit to eating the complete Bible buffet – he is inviting you to taste, to sample his goodness. Take a moment and ask Him to give you a taste of His goodness. Take a moment and meditate on just a single verse of His Word – Good news, Love, Truth, Peace. Experience divine flavor with eternal results. Get some starter tastes at www.gospelbites.org.
