Roar. Roar. The deep guttural sound rumbles through the night. It’s lions calling, letting everyone know they are here. Thankfully we are camped in our rooftop tent. It feels so safe being high up here while outside it’s dark, and somewhere lions are prowling. Sometimes in life it feels like we are surrounded by “lions” – by darkness and danger. Fear, illness, worry, loss, pain, or even real physical threats prowl all around us. The more we try and escape the more real and terrifying the danger feels. If only we had a safe place to go. A place where the danger couldn’t reach us. The good news is we do – “LORD my God, I take refuge in you; save and deliver me from all who pursue me, or they will tear me apart like a lion and rip me to pieces with no one to rescue me.” (Psalms 7:1-2). God is offering to be your place of safety. The shelter you can hide in when dangers surround you. If your life is surrounded by threats, physical or mental – run to God and take refuge in his incredible care. Peace. Peace.
Psa 7:1-2 -Safe from lions
