Psa 23v4 – 82 and alone

“I am so blessed,” she says as I listen to her voice message. “God is amazing”, she concludes with joy as her message ends. At 82 years of age and living alone, you might think Rosemary has shared a message about some windfall gain or other fortuitous event. However, she has just told me about a series of incidents that resulted in her being stuck lying on the floor all night in a pitch-dark room with no way to get up or contact anyone. Yet, in her dire need, she spoke to God. She listened for His voice and His peace. “God told me not to stress while guiding me what to do next”, she said. Finally, in the morning, help came. Reflecting on her ordeal, she says, “God is my guide, my friend, my teacher, whom I count on and praise for always being with me. My God”. This is love. This is trust – when we see God, hear God, and praise God in every situation. “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” (Psalm 23:4). Know that whatever situation, whatever darkness, you may be in, God is there with you, and he will strengthen you, help you, and uphold you.
