What is God’s goal for you? Paul tells us. “My goal is that you may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that you may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that you may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (Colossians 2:2-3). Visualise this. “Come with me,” Paul says to you. “I want to give you something priceless”. You follow him to a door. On it is written “For You”. “Open it,” Paul says, “This is for you.” Stepping into the room, you see yourself in a mirror. You look small, but next to you stands Jesus, powerful and protective. You are filled with courage. You open the next door. All around you appear millions of people of every background and age. You are flooded by a sense of uniting love. Immediately, a treasure chest appears. Opening it fills you with understanding. Knowingly, you reach for the mysterious golden crown. Written on it is one word, “Jesus”. As you lift it, your eyes are opened, and you see the world and all that is in it with divine insight and wisdom, like a million sparkling diamonds. With a heart full of courage and love and eyes open, your life is changed forever. This experience is exactly what God is offering you. Open the door.
