God speaks in many ways – pictures, words, symbols, and numbers. The number 7 represents perfection and rest. But God also uses multiples like 70×7. “Seventy ‘sevens’ are decreed for your people…to bring in everlasting righteousness” (Daniel 9:24). 70×7 speaks of God’s deliverance. In the New Testament, Peter asked Jesus: “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him: “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven ” (Matthew 18:21-22). Here 70×7 (490) represents ultimate forgiveness. God has also taken his numbers and woven them into nature. Colour is created by the wavelength of light. The red-orange-yellow-green zone shifts to the blue-indigo-violet zone at 490nm wavelength. 490 is where earthly colours shift to heavenly. Photons emitted from the surface of the sun travel across the vacuum of space to reach us on earth to give us life. At its closest point, it takes 490 seconds for the sun’s light to travel through the vacuum of space to reach us. The number of redemption and life. The number of the SON. When Jesus is closest to you, that’s when his light will bring you life.
