Is your life filled with God’s abundance? When God brought Israel into the promised land, he gave them a land with streams; a land with wheat and barley, vines and figs, olive oil and honey; a land where bread was not scarce and where they lacked nothing (Deuteronomy 8:7-9). Moses told them, “When you have eaten and are satisfied, praise the LORD your God for the good land he has given you.” (Deuteronomy 8:10). He also warned them, “Be careful that you do not forget the LORD your God, failing to observe his commands, his laws and his decrees. Otherwise, when you eat and are satisfied, when you build fine houses and settle down, and when your herds and flocks grow large and your silver and gold increase and all that you have is multiplied, then your heart will become proud and you will forget the LORD your God” (Deuteronomy 8:11-14). Seeing all we have as ours – my home, my business, my success, my bank account, my time, will make our hearts proud and cause us to forget God. Instead, see all you have as a gift from God. Thank God every day. Be abundant in giving. Follow his commands. Then, your life will truly be filled with God’s abundant blessings, and you will lack nothing.
