One of the most challenging things when going to a new place is knowing what to expect. What will the people be like? What will the accommodation be like? However, if someone has been there before you, that can help a lot. You can read their reviews and get an insight into what to expect. But even then, things might have changed. The best would be if someone went ahead of you to check how things are and then made sure it was all just right for you when you got there. While this is what some mega-wealthy people might have, most of us won’t have this available to us. Or do we? We do have someone who will go ahead of us, not just to future places but to future times. “See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared.” (Exodus 23:20). In the story of the exodus of Israel, God said his angel would go ahead of the people. And so too for us. As we walk through the wilderness of our life toward God’s promise, he sends his angel ahead of us. The places we will end up, the decisions we will make, God is already there. Take comfort in knowing there is no place or situation where God hasn’t already arrived and is waiting for you. Look at the date tomorrow. God is already there waiting for you.
