Isa 26:3 – Trusting to fall

I was standing on the balcony of an apartment with with my Grampy. “It’s funny how man trusts man,” he said as he pointed to someone leaning over the railing. And that’s so true. There are many things that we put our trust in – that a railing will hold us, that a car will get us to our destination, that there will be food in the stores. We implicitly put trust in humankind, but what’s our trust of God like? Have you ever tried a trust fall? It’s where you have to fall back trusting the person behind will catch you. It’s not easy, as even if you trust the person, because you can’t see and you have no control, you fear. You fear that you may fall and get hurt. When it comes to trusting God, because we can’t see him, because we have no control, we can have these same fears, even though we know he is there to catch us. “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” (Isaiah 26:3). If we trust God, we will experience perfect peace, we will have nothing to fear because he is in control and he WILL catch you.
