After being away from home, we returned to see the field in front of our house carpeted with beautiful flowers. The sound of bees and birds filled the air in a song of celebration and life. However, it t is only when the sun rises that the flowers lift their heads and open to reveal their splendour. When we look at our lives and those around us, it is more like a desert of despair than a field of flowers. We are living in the parched plains of anxiety, conflict, hate, selfishness, loss, fear, and death. Yet God has made a promise. “The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom. Like the crocus, it will burst into bloom; it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the splendour of Carmel and Sharon; they will see the glory of the LORD, the splendour of our God.” (Isaiah 35:1-2). This is a promise and a picture of God’s kingdom. The day when Jesus returns, the son who will shine light into darkness. He will turn deserts into flowers, both the destroyed landscapes of our planet and the parched lives of his people. He will bring the springtime of renewal. He will carpet our world in the fragrance of God. He will bring new life. Have faith. He will return…soon. Open Bible – http://bit.ly/Isa35v1-2, http://bit.ly/READMore_
