My marathon training was halted due to an Achilles injury. After a visit to the physio, I learned that my Achilles was not the issue but rather an imbalance in my hamstrings. After some further rehab, I realised that the hamstring imbalance was due to a weakness in my glutes. So I focused on fixing my glutes, and it significantly reduced the aches in my Achilles and hamstrings whilst running. The rehab process highlighted the importance of fixing problems at the source and not at the symptom. So often, we treat symptoms and not the root cause. We opt for the quick fix as opposed to the true remedy. We live in a world full of sickness, depression, and suffering. While many earthly fixes are offered, the root cause is not addressed. It’s sin that separated us from God and brought suffering (Romans 6:22). And so if we want to treat our suffering, we must step back and focus on the sin cure – the source of life – Jesus. “Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” (John 6:35). Let us seek the ultimate cure – Jesus. Open Bible – http://bit.ly/Joh6v35 (Jeremy G)
