Luk 23v42 – Do you remember me?

Have you ever been in a situation where you meet or see someone and think to yourself, wow, that person looks familiar, maybe, maybe not? And then, if you realise who they are, you certainly can’t remember their name. Why do we remember some people and forget others? It is often those we have had a meaningful connection with and lots in common that we remember. Jesus wants to have a meaningful relationship with us. He, too, just like us, wants us to remember Him in the good times and the bad. To communicate with Him daily through prayer and live a life becoming like him. When He returns, are we going to recognise Him and Him us? He once spoke a parable about people proud of their outward shows of holiness, to whom he will say, “I never knew you” (Matthew 7:23). The thief on the cross dying next to Jesus said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” (Luke 23:42). If this is our prayer, then let us invest daily in our relationship with him. For, surely then, he will never forget our name. Open Bible – http://bit.ly/Luk23v42, http://bit.ly/Mat7v23 (Lindsay T)
