What forms are required to apply for the bank loan? What must I do to get approval for my building alteration? Life is full of requirements that must be met and we may seek answers, at some stage, to questions like these. However, what about a far more important question? What does God require of me? The prophet Micah answers this. “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6:8). Something jumps out in the answer. It’s full of verbs, doing words – act, love, walk. God’s requirement for doing good requires us to live His goodness – act with justice in your decisions, show mercy like mercy is the love of your life, and behave with humility in everything you do. It’s not complicated. It’s not difficult to understand. It’s simply what is good. And this is what God required of you.
Mic 6:8 – God’s requirement
