I’ve always been afraid of being caught in a lightning storm. But, since I love the outdoors, it’s inevitably happened a few times. Recently, we were driving back from a camping trip in a powerful rainstorm. We were listening to a Christian band; the song had just finished, and they were praying to God when the lighting struck. It was so close to the car that I’m sure I could feel the heat of it. Usually, I would be on edge, waiting for the next strike, but this time was different. We’d been singing to our God and were in the midst of a prayer when the lightning struck. All I felt was the power of God’s presence. It struck me 🙂 how the more we invite God into every moment, the more He can change moments of fear and uncertainty into moments of awe. The more we invite Him in, the more we will see His glory and hear His voice. “The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord thunders over the mighty waters. The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is majestic…The voice of the LORD strikes with flashes of lightning” (Psalm 29:3-4, 7). Actively invite God into this moment, seek him throughout the day and experience his power. Open Bible – http://bit.ly/Psa29v3-7 (Sarah J)
