What fears are you carrying with you at the moment? Fear for your health? Fear for the state of your country? Fear for your finances? Fear for your family? A Google search says, “Fear weakens our immune system and can cause cardiovascular damage, gastrointestinal problems such as ulcers and irritable bowel syndrome, and decreased fertility. It can lead to accelerated ageing and even premature death.” Quite simply, fear is highly detrimental to your life, health and well-being. This is why the hope God offers us is so important. King David carried fears, but he did not let these fears destroy him; instead, he brought his fears to God. “I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears” (Psalms 34:4). God understands and knows the fears we are carrying. He understands the impact these fears have on our lives. When we seek God, he answers and promises to deliver us from all our fears.
