The TV is on. There’s chatting in the background. You’re on your laptop. You get a notification on your phone. You’re busy. Our day-to-day life is filled with busyness, noise and distractions. Yet we will say God never speaks to us. We never get that sign that we’re looking for. Why is it that back in Bible times, God was so active? He was always talking to people back then. He was always showing up and doing things. But not anymore. However, how often are we still? How often do we have no distractions? How often are we actually listening? How often are we actually looking up? Thousands of years ago, God shared the secret to seeing and hearing him. It’s not a new app we must download. It’s not a new Netflix show we must watch. It is simply “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10). It is in the silence where we will hear God. It is when we are still that we will see what we have been looking for. Challenge yourself today to spend just 10 minutes…just being still. And in those moments, as you listen, as you hear, as you see, you will know….that He is God.
Psa 46:10 – Be still
