Rom 6v23 – Uncleanable

Mud, mud, mud. That’s all we have seen as weeks later, after a severe flood, we continue to clean our house. While some things like chairs and floors are easier to clean, carpets and duvets are nearly impossible. The mud just goes in everywhere. No matter how hard you scrub, there’s just no getting them clean. Isn’t this how we sometimes feel about our own sins? We vow not to be angry or gossip or lust, yet as hard as we try, we fail. Sin seems impossible to remove from our lives – no matter how hard we try. The sin-scrubbing approach doesn’t work. We simply can’t remove sin from our lives, no matter how hard we try. This is a big problem as “The wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). And so we have no option but to scrub harder. This would be true if it weren’t for the second part of the verse, “But the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Jesus is the ultimate and only sin remover. We can’t get sin out, but Jesus can. A vow to take sin out only works if there is a vow to let Jesus in. It’s only in Jesus that sin and our desire to sin are removed. Let Jesus remove the impossible from your life. Open Bible – https://bit.ly/rom6v23, http://bit.ly/READMore_
